Denman is back after a huge win in the Hennessy Gold Cup at Newbury (28 November). Kauto Star is the Gold Cup holder, the first horse ever to regain the Cheltenham Gold Cup in 2009.
In 2008 when Denman won the Gold Cup Kauto Star was not 100%, in 2009 when Kauto Star won the Gold Cup, Denman was not 100%, so the Cheltenham Gold Cup 2010 with both horses in peak form should be a sensational race!

Kauto Star is the 2007 and 2009 Gold Cup Winner. Denman in the 2008 Gold Cup Winner. Both horses are trained by Paul Nicholls and it will be interesting to see who Ruby Walsh will choose to ride, but should remain loyal to Kauto Star.
Denman was unstoppable under Sam Thomas in 2008 when beating Kauto Star but had heart problems, coming back in 2009 to run second. Now he looks back to his best and will look to win back his Gold Cup crown.
