Mighty Man maintained his unbeaten record over fences with a smooth success in the Huntingdon Novices’ Chase on Wednesday. Henry Daly’s Grade One-winning hurdler may have made a late switch to chasing at the age of 10, but he has made a seamless transition.

Richard Johnson set out to make all and despite Sullumo ranging up alongside before the turn out of the back straight, his class kicked in and the 8-13 favourite went away to win by eight lengths. Stan James offer 16-1 about Mighty Man in the RSA Chase.

Daly said: “He has always jumped very well and it is really nice to see him do it out there. He will probably have one more run over fences and go for the RSA Chase. The ground was against him and this wasn’t the plan at all, we’d originally hoped to go to Warwick two weeks ago.”
